Do you wanna’ hang like a motocross, but even longer?

Then you know what . . . you need to learn how to KITE SURF.

The Kite Surf Beginners Guide

As you might have already guessed, kite surfing might be pretty new but it’s so exciting that it’s catching on fast. Here are a few steps which you ought to follow in order to make your kite surfing experience safer, better and even more exhilarating.

The art of kite surfing basically combines two very different skills, boarding and kite flying, so it really does help you to kite surf if you can master each of those skills independently, before you try putting them together.

  • Practice flying a trainer kite, that’s always a good idea, even if you were the second grade kite flying champion “back in your day”, it’s always good to brush up on your kite flying skills without having to worry about the board. Practising on dry land is always a good idea.
  • Practice your boarding skills – that’s the next step. It really doesn’t matter whether you do a bit of surf boarding, skate boarding, snow boarding or wake boarding, all will help. If you have good board skills then you won’t have to worry about that part of your kite surfing when you eventually put the two together. When you do first start to kite surf it can get pretty fast pretty quickly, (or should it be pretty quick pretty fastly? – no, I was right first time), so try getting some speed up with a little down hill boarding if you get the chance.
  • Book a proper lesson with a qualified kite surf instructor. Okay, you might be the type of person who tries to pick up this sort of stuff as you go along, but if you want to learn how to kite surf quickly, properly and safely, it really will cut out a lot of time, effort and possible danger. Don’t be a jerk, book a lesson and fast track your kite surfing experience.
  • Get the right kite surf gear, it really does make all the difference. You don’t have to go out and buy a full sized kite surf right at the beginning of your kite surfing adventure, try out the instructors stuff first, for one thing it’ll save a lot of wear and tear on your kite surfing gear until you get the hang of it, there’s bound to be a few spills when you first start learning the art of kite surfing. Your instructor will explain to you about the different sizes and shapes of kite surf equipment, and which is best for beginners to use, if you get the wrong type of kite surfing gear right at the very beginning it’s only gonna’ make the job of learning to kite surf even more difficult, and kite surfing really shouldn’t be a “job”, it’s fantastic fun, once you get the hang of it.

Pretty awesome huh? You’ll soon get the hang of it, with a little practice . . . but remember, things don’t always go according to plan.

Ouch.
